President's Message for September 2019

Because of the importance we have placed on The Christian Children's Home of Ohio as our main charity, I'd like to thank everyone again who helped make this year's event so successful. With our dedicated club members investing their time and efforts, as well as the attendees – both newbies & veterans along with our sponsors – private and corporate, we are dramatically increasing participation at CCHO. With that being said, I'd like your comments of three things we excelled at and three things we could improve for next year, "Cruisin' for the Kids – 11". Send me an email, snail mail, Morse Code, smoke signals, etc... with your comments.

With respect to CCHO, we lost another superb supporter after the event. It saddens me that Gary Matjasic passed away on August 21. Gary has been a MOCC member for many years and has contributed greatly to our club. We will all miss him but our challenge is to keep his memory alive! I have fond memories of working with him on many of the graphics for autocross numbers and dash plaques. It was always a pleasure to listen to his stories – especially about projects that involved gold lettering for local fire trucks. Let's support Judy, Paul and Donna as they work through their loss.

As a reminder, there are several more low speed auto crosses and rallyes left in this year's competition schedule. If you haven't tried any of these type events, please do so. We will need your help as workers at our low speeds and if there is interest, you may catch a ride around the course during the day.

Track-X 3 is fast approaching, October 3 – 4. There are several spots still open and time to register if you'd like to drive on the road course at the National Corvette Museum Motor Sports track. This is a "must do, bucket list item" for those of us with the need for speed.

With the competitive season almost over, there are many other activities to attend. There are socials, The Chili Cook Off, East Ohio Region Governor's Meeting, Christmas Party, Regional Banquet and many other activities.

Please note, our next club meeting has been scheduled for October 8 th at Zion Lutheran Church, 301 N. Market St., Wooster, OH.

I'm looking forward to seeing you soon.

Respectfully,
Dan Gallagher
